On Sunday 9th July, our Registrar Jihan Williams-Knight met with high level officials at the World Intellectual Property Organization at the headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, including Director General Mr. Daren Tang. They discussed potential areas of partnership between the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis and WIPO to develop creativity and innovation locally and also a very special upcoming event!

We are pleased to announce that following a very successful visit of a delegation of WIPO Officials to St. Kitts and Nevis in March 2023 and the expression of interest from our Minister Attorney-General Garth Wilkin, St. Kitts and Nevis will be host country for the 2023 Meetings of Caribbean IP Ministers and Heads of IP Offices in November 2023. DG Tang will be present and this will be his first trip to the Caribbean in this capacity!

The IPOSKN expresses its profound gratitude to Minister Wilkin for his unwavering support to advance the IP mandate in SKN. We also thank Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew and Minister of Sports, Small Business Development and the Creative Economy Hon. Samal Duggins for meeting with the WIPO Delegation in March. Their support cemented WIPO’s decision to choose St. Kitts and Nevis for these important meetings. Stay tuned for more updates!
